Red Tube Dress by White by Development

> $40 (paid)
> Active Endeavors, $142
> Blaec, $135

I actually bought this a while ago, but never got around to reviewing it. I forgot about this until I was looking for the perfect outfit to wear for Fourth of July. I always think of White as the younger and cuter version of Development. Both styles are great, but White is perfect for a casual, yet fun occasion. This is the dress form of their popular tube top (see IRL2). Incredibly comfortable stretchy fabric (lyocell). I suspect it's flattering on most body types, due to the flowy skirt. I'll be pairing this with a muted gold Anthropologie fishnet sweater and some casual sandals.

Sizing is true to size.

Floral Dress by Y-Yigal

> $310 orig, $155 sale
> Neiman Marcus

I look a lot different from the model, don't I? Hehe, nevertheless, this dress is beautiful! The colors make this dress, in my opinion. They are just so vibrant in real life. As you can see, the pattern will vary depending on the dress. It'd be nice if I had gotten one similar to the model's, which looks less messy. I don't think the difference is as noticeable in person though. The pattern also makes you feel a little less conspicuous if your tummy sticks out a little more than it should. The back (click on "closeup2") is slightly longer and gathered a little, so it swishes when you walk and makes you look more J-Lo-ish in the derrier, which seems to be a good thing. This is the perfect dress for a garden party or wedding. I can't wait to wear it out!

Sizing is true to size, though the fabric is a little stretchy, so there's room for error. I ordered a size 1/4, which is my normal size. Will flatter most body types.

Chiffon Dress by Y-Yigal

> $375 orig, $187 sale
> Neiman Marcus

This is another great dress by Yigal. However, the actual item, to me, looks very different compared to the pic of the model. Most obviously, the fit is very different from what I expected, though it could be because I seem to be more angular than the model.

When I was putting this on, I struggled for several minutes, pondering how to arrange the sleeves. It comes with sleeves that are partially attached to the strap--you can see in my pic that the front side is not attached to the dress, and neither is the back. The sleeves (about 2" worth) are attached to the top of the strap and ends in a long sash that you're supposed to tie in the back (I assume). The picture with the model had to have been pinned, taped, or arranged somehow to make these look like actual sleeves. Notice also how her sleeves are so much shorter than mine. I'll probably tape the sleeves down with Fashion Tape to achieve the look they've got going.

Another difference is in the pattern. The flowers are a lot larger and more vibrant in real life--or perhaps she is just a lot taller than I am that it makes the flowers look smaller? Nah.... Speaking of height, I also expected the length to be a lot longer, since I'm certainly not model-tall. But I'm liking the shorter length. I think any longer, and it would have looked too nightgown-ish on me.

The actual dress is sheer turquoise chiffon with floral print. It comes with a matching v-neck turquoise slip. The edges are trimmed in red. It's very Rozae...from what I have seen of Rozae Nichols dresses. Sizing is true to size.

Boucle Jacket & Skirt by Y-Yigal

> $310 orig, $155 sale
> Neiman Marcus

Perhaps if I were to put my arms on my hips and jut out my hips, I'd look better. What do you think? =P Okay, this suit is kind of horrible on me, but I must include my hits as well as my misses. I just don't know how anyone would be able to look good in this though. As you can see from the difference in sleeve and body length, the jacket is cropped short. But then that means the skirt should hit at your natural or high waist. I have the skirt pinned in the back so it doesn't fall off. Otherwise, the skirt would be at my low hip, leaving inches and inches of bare belly. If you want the look that the model has, order one size down in the skirt. The jacket is true to size, but it's odd because the front doesn't really lie flat. Puffs out a bit. Okay...that's enough talking about this outfit. Not sure what body type this would flatter. Not mine.

On a side note: When I unpin the back of the skirt and replace the jacket with another top, the skirt actually looks kind of nice.
